I bought this duvet cover to cut down on laundry I was doing as a result of a cat who regularly pees on the bed--a latent habit he has developed to get me up in the morning. (It works.)
The cover works, too. If all goes according to plan, and he doesn't find his way to the edge or under the cover at all, I will find the cover has absorbed the urine, or there is still a puddle there, but it does not affect the comforter inside.
However, either I am coincidentally having more frequent night sweats, or it is not as breatheable as they might have you believe. I find myself kicking the covers off frequently. Not to put anyone off, because it seems others don't have that problem.
Also, the material is polyester, and has the feel of shiny panty-hose, that "catches" every rough spot on your hands or feet. (Again, this may be just me.)
My washing machine doesn't have a setting that only spins, and I guess since it holds liquid, it is fairly soggy when I take it out of the washer.
Bottom line though, it usually keeps me from having to also wash a comforter, sheets, mattress pad and waterproof mattress pad in that day's laundry.

My dog is older and has started urinating in her sleep. I got this to throw on the down comforter so I didn't have to continue washing all the bedding. She has gone twice and it doesn't go through anything. It is isn't the prettiest or softest of covers but it does the job and my pup can still sleep on the bed.

We have a special needs kitty who likes to sleep on our bed. Because of his occasional accidents, he was banned from the bedroom. I came across this duvet cover while looking online. Well, since purchasing your product, NOTHING gets through to our bedding!! I know this is probably an unusual use for it, but I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to protect their bed, couch, etc. Our kitty is very happy again(and so are we!)

A little slick. But did the job. The old dog had an accident and it didn't soak in. The bedding was saved from having to be changed in the middle of the night. Washed great and dried fast and went straight back on the bed. A winner with 4 senior dogs.

I wish the comforter inside didn't move around so much. That's the only thing I don't like about the cover. But, as far as being waterproof, it's great!
